International Restorative Justice Week 2021 commenced with the 3rd Restorative Justice Council (RJC) annual conference delivered over two days. The theme of this year’s conference was ‘Restorative networks: bridging divides and strengthening communities’.
It was lovely to see so many of our dedicated Calm Mediation JR facilitators in attendance. Wearing her RJC Trustee hat, our very own Janet Clark delivered a session on Secondary Trauma, a complex topic that we often discuss in our day to day work.
Following the RJC conference, Calm’s RJ Team commenced their own RJ Week event, delivering Induction and Skills Practice Training. The two-day training was for practitioners who had trained elsewhere and want to work with us here at Calm Mediation. The group were fantastic and gave us some great feedback on the sessions:

“It exceeded all expectations. The training was well organized and thought through with lots of learning opportunities.”
“It has sharpened my skills and knowledge. I have had a chance to play more roles with difference scenarios.”
“Excellent training overall. Fantastic trainers.”
“Very warm and supportive group which made learning a joy and laughed a lot.”
We look forward to welcoming our new practitioners into the fold.
