In this role, you will be part of a panel of enthusiastic volunteers, with the opportunity to make a difference in communities and contribute to case studies to promote the effectiveness of the service. As part of the service, we offer ongoing support through 1-to-1 and group supervisions. This will give you the opportunity to reflect on your cases and how to effectively develop your skills, ensuring you have all the support you need.
You will be gaining CPD (Continued Professional Development) points, verified by the College of Mediators, contributing to any existing requirements you may have.
Volunteer Community Mediator Role Expectations
Calm Mediation is affiliated to professional bodies in the conflict resolution sector and, as such, it is a requirement to maintain the standards of our service provision. To ensure that our practitioners are working to a high standard and continue to develop their skills, we provide ongoing support and development. Each year, we require you to attend:
- 3 or more sessions from our annual program of development workshops
- 1 or more group supervision
- 1 one-to-one supervision,
To be part of the service you should have sufficient flexibility to meet the minimum practice requirements of:
- 12 practice hours per annum (this is usually 2-4 cases)
