Julie started her career as project manager for a small charity which took her on a lifelong path of providing support and advocacy to individuals at risk of harm, mostly within the criminal justice system.
“Providing people with the tools they need to feel more empowered, safer and less anxious is the most rewarding thing I could have imagined myself doing”
“Over the last 25 years, I have worked with care leavers, young offenders, parents of young people at risk of offending, domestic abuse survivors and victims of crime. The one common denominator is that every one of those individuals, at some point, felt like they had no voice. Everyone, without exception, deserves the space to talk and be heard”
Having seen the extraordinary impact of restorative justice, Julie embraced the opportunity to lead Calm Mediation’s existing RJ provision as the newly commissioned pan-London service in April 2019, striving to ensure all victims have access to safe, high quality restorative processes.
