What I loved about the Connect Day is that all the organisations we work with in the different fields that Calm cover, from peer mediation through to housing, through to working with private contractors like Eurostar all came together. Everyone who attended was able to see how Calm works creatively – with each of those agencies. The panel where our trained Peer Mediators interviewed CMC Chairman Victoria Harris about her mediation journey was a great watch – seeing them thrive already as mediators Sixthformers at Bacon’s College will allow them to flourish in the future – whatever they go on to do.
Impact, Creativity and Legacy
What was amazing was how people like Andrew Phillips from Riverside Housing are now being creative with the way they offer mediation and facilitated conversations, how Eurostar are being creative in the way they use us, how our peer mediators who are now in full-time employment, like Kezia, are now supporting mediation in the primary school. It was great to see Matthew Carlisle join us, who is now Dean of Education at Global Banking. Matthew first met us when he was a student at South Bank University, It was amazing to see everybody come together and realise how each of them work differently and creatively with Calm Mediation.
